Storemend

Common task · estimated 1–2 business days · before/after report included

Your store feels slow. Here’s the speed work that’s actually worth paying for.

You’ve run PageSpeed, seen the red number, and maybe gotten quotes promising a 100 score. Be skeptical of those. This task is the honest version: the high-impact fixes, measured before and after, with the limits stated plainly.

Storemend Task № 10 / 10

Speed Optimization Quick Wins

The fixes with the best effort-to-impact ratio on a Shopify store — done in one pass, documented in one report.

What’s included

  • Compress and lazy-load images
  • Remove dead app scripts left by uninstalled apps
  • Defer render-blocking scripts, fix font loading, preload key assets
  • Before/after report with Lighthouse/PageSpeed scores on the same pages, plus an honest assessment of what’s theme-limited

Not included

  • Theme replacement or full rebuild — offered, but scoped as a separate project; ask in chat for a proposal
  • App replacement projects
  • Checkout speed — that part is Shopify-controlled
  • Guaranteed score targets — scores depend on your theme and apps

The work

Where slow Shopify stores actually lose their time

Most stores aren’t slow because of one big thing — they’re slow because of accumulation. Full-resolution photos uploaded straight from the camera. Scripts from apps uninstalled a year ago, still loading on every page because uninstalling an app doesn’t remove the code it put in your theme. Fonts loaded four different ways. Tag managers stacked on tag managers.

The quick wins attack exactly that accumulation: images compressed and lazy-loaded so the first screen renders fast, dead scripts removed outright, the remaining scripts deferred so they stop blocking the page, fonts loaded once and properly, and the assets that matter preloaded.

Everything is measured on the same pages before and after — homepage, a product page, a collection page — so the report shows real movement, not vibes.

What I won’t promise

A guaranteed score. Your final number depends on your theme’s architecture and the apps you genuinely need — some of that is out of anyone’s reach without a rebuild, and checkout speed is controlled by Shopify itself. Anyone guaranteeing “90+ or your money back” is betting you won’t read the fine print.

What I guarantee instead: the listed work, done properly, and a measured improvement report. If the biggest remaining problem is the theme itself, the report says so — and what a fix would honestly involve.

Why speed is worth real money

Slow pages bleed mobile visitors before they ever see your products, and page experience feeds into how ads and search treat you. You don’t need a perfect score — you need the obvious weight gone. That’s what this buys.

How this works

Measured at the start, measured at the end

  1. 01

You describe the problem in plain English.

“My site takes forever on phones” is a complete brief. A PageSpeed screenshot helps but isn’t required.

  2. 02

I measure first, then fix what matters.

Baseline scores on your key pages before anything changes — that’s the “before” in your report.

  3. 03

It happens safely on a copy first.

All theme changes on a duplicated, unpublished theme. Your live store keeps selling, untouched.

  4. 04

You see it before it goes live.

Preview link, your approval, then publishing scheduled by agreement with you.

  5. 05

If it breaks, I fix it free.

Thirty days — and the report doubles as the record of every change made.

Describe the problem in plain English. I’ll figure out what actually needs to change, do it safely on a copy of your store first, show you before anything goes live, and fix it free if it breaks.

  • Delivered as proposed, or made right. If work misses the proposal, I fix it free — and refund anything I can't make match.

  • 30-day warranty. Defects in my delivered work, fixed free.

  • One clear proposal. The price is based on project scope and agreed before work starts.

  • Your live store stays untouched. All work on an unpublished theme copy — you preview and approve before anything goes live.

If this isn’t quite it

Beyond these tasks: I also build custom Shopify apps — my flagship work — plus integrations, redesigns, and bigger builds. See all services.

If someone guarantees you a 100 score, ask them to put it in writing. I guarantee the listed work and a measured before/after report — a promise I can actually keep.
