Privacy policy

The plain-English version is the only version. Storemend is run by Astrid, a solo Shopify developer in Vancouver, Canada — and this page lists everything this site stores about you and why. If anything here is unclear, ask in the chat or email [email protected].

1. What I store, and why

Chat transcripts
Our conversation is the service: it holds your brief, my proposals, your approvals, and the warranty record. It's stored so both of us can refer back to exactly what was agreed.
Your email address
Used for two things only: magic sign-in links (no passwords on this site) and project notifications — proposals, invoices, delivery notices. No newsletter, no drip campaigns, no list you have to unsubscribe from.
Files you upload
Screenshots and files you share in chat are stored with the conversation, so we can both see what you showed me.
Ad-click data
If you arrived from an ad, the tags in that link (UTM parameters and click IDs) are kept in your browser's session storage and recorded if you start a conversation. I use this to learn which ads actually work — measurement, nothing else.
Payments — handled by Stripe
All payments run through Stripe payment links. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch this site — I see the payment's status and amount, not your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy covers their side.

2. Cookies

This site sets two cookies of its own:

  • A conversation token — keeps your chat thread yours when you come back.
  • A session cookie — keeps you signed in to your project portal after you use a magic link.

When ad measurement is enabled on a page, Google's measurement tag may set its own cookie to attribute conversions to ads. That's the extent of third-party tracking here — no analytics suites watching you scroll.

3. What I never do

I don't sell or rent your data — not to anyone, not in aggregate, not "anonymized." Your information is shared only with the services that make this site work: Stripe (payments), an email delivery service (the magic links and notifications above), and the hosting this site runs on. Each gets only what its job requires.

4. Deleting your data

Ask in the chat thread or email [email protected] and I'll delete your conversation, uploads, and account data. One honest caveat: records tied to issued invoices may need to be kept for tax and accounting — if that applies, I'll tell you exactly what's kept and why.

5. Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. No silent edits.
